My first insight into art was at my father's knee when I saw him draw. I think he used his accountants' lined paper. I can't remember whether he used a pencil or a ballpoint but I do remember, to my eyes - I was four or so, that he'd created life. With just a few strokes he'd made something live on flat paper. From that day to this I've been fascinated by what you can do with seemingly simple materials.
